The German airline gains from higher passenger figures and joint ventures

Moreover, both airlines announced future corporate offers for certain flight routes. Thus, several flights are offered by Lufthansa through an Etihad number and vice versa.

Further, the number of passengers forwarded by Lufthansa and its subsidiaries Brussels Airlines, Swiss, Austrian Airlines and Eurowings rose by 12,6 percent (7,9 Million in absolute numbers). Concerning the core brand Lufthansa the plus amounts to 2,3 percent. Moreover the cargo business rose by 4,9 percent compared to previous year.

WLAN will be offered on Airbus 320

The French bank Société Génerale lifted the target price for the German airline from EUR 11,00 to EUR 14,50. Simultaneously, the recommendation was adjusted from “hold” to “buy”. According to the analysts, one major aspect for this upgrade were the announced policies concerning cost savings and consolidation.

CEO Spohr pronounced a scheduled higher efficiency in his company since the prices for kerosene may rise again. This shall be accomplished by lower airport charges and lower staff costs. Nevertheless the fares could be reduced in order to attract additional passengers. Against this background Lufthansa wants to offer internet access in all Airbus 320 planes which are typically used for European flights.
